ACPEN Signature courses are the flagship CPE events of ACPEN, and the top of the line in CPE programing.
Signature courses, begin in May each year, continue monthly throughout the year, and are replayed for live credit several times, including in December and January.
Each showcases important and timely CPE topics, using enhanced production techniques, and are delivered by panels of national experts, practitioners, and representatives of regulatory and standard setting bodies.

Identity theft of tax information is a growing problem. Both taxpayers and tax preparers are a target for identity theft. This presentation discusses how to advise taxpayers who are victims of identity theft, and some of the scams that aim to victimize CPAs or make them complicit in identity theft of client information.
This course is approved by the IRS. The submission of a completed request form, found under the materials tab, is required for credit.
Dr. Chambers is a Professor of Accounting at the College of Business, Texas A & M University-Corpus Christi, USA. Prior to receiving a Ph.D. concentrating in taxation in 2000, she had over a decade of public accounting experience as owner/partner-in-charge of a CPA firm in Houston that had a concentration in accounting issues for small business owners. Dr. Chambers has been published articles in such journals as Journal of Accountancy, Journal of Legal Tax Research, Tax Notes and Tax Adviser.
