D. Greg Goller


Background Greg is a managing director in KPMG’s Washington National Tax (WNT) office and the practice leader for WNT’s Exempt Organizations group. He has more than 25 years of experience in providing advice on tax matters to clients in the healthcare, higher education, public charity, religious, private foundation, social welfare, and trade association sectors. Professional and industry experience Greg has extensive experience in representing tax exempt clients before the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and state departments of tax and revenue, providing tax compliance and planning advice, and speaking on a variety of issues that concern tax-exempt organizations, including serving as a discussion leader for a panel on the unrelated business income of pension plans. His experience provides clients with valuable insight into planning and structuring proposed transactions, analyzing proposed or completed transactions to assess the merits of tax positions associated with real estate transactions, alternative investments, recurring revenue streams, program expenditure analysis, expense allocation, and restructurings and reorganizations, among others. Greg regularly advises clients about the tax aspects of financial and operational relationships that exist in multi-entity structures. He also assists clients in requesting private letter rulings, voluntary disclosure agreements, and closing agreements from tax authorities to mitigate tax risk and exposure.
