For two decades, clients have relied on Krista Hurst's legal counsel across a wide range of Immigration Law matters. She helps companies with business-based petitions and visas, worksite enforcement, responses to audits and requests for evidence, and corporate compliance. She provides counsel to clients in a variety of industries and develops strategies for successfully traversing the complex business immigration process. Ms. Hurst's experience includes collaborating with in-house counsel and human resource professionals on the full
spectrum of employment-based immigration, from the hiring of international talent on nonimmigrant visas to navigating the employment-based green card process, to achieving US citizenship.

Ms. Hurst is particularly skilled when it comes to handling complex legal issues and navigating intricate fact patterns. She collaborates with clients to understand corporate goals and then provides individualized strategic guidance to achieve the desired results. Her experience includes reviewing and interpreting federal regulations and state statutes and establishing policies, procedures, and templates to achieve ongoing efficiencies and processes throughout organizations.

In addition to her work with companies of all sizes in a variety of sectors, Ms. Hurst also provides counsel to individuals and employees of companies with family-based immigration matters, including K-1 visas, marriage-based green cards, I-751 removal of conditions on marriage-based permanent residence, and other issues inherent to the immigration process.

Krista Hurst is a Senior Attorney practicing in Butzel's Detroit office. She is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, Women Lawyers Association of Michigan, and the State Bar of Michigan. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Immigration Law Section, and as a Council Member of the International Law Section, of the State Bar. Prior to joining Butzel, Ms. Hurst was a partner in an international employment and immigration law firm.

Ms. Kasham is a Shareholder practicing in Butzel's Detroit office. She is a graduate of the University of Detroit Mercy, School of Law (J.D., 2014) and Eastern Michigan University (B.A. in Political Science and Middle Eastern Studies, 2005).

Ms. Kasham began her career in Butzel's Immigration Practice Group, where she served as a Legal Assistant for several years. After graduating law school, Ms. Kasham transitioned into an Immigration Paralegal role for a brief period. Since her admission to the State Bar of Michigan, Ms. Kasham has established herself as an experienced Immigration attorney specializing in several areas including business immigration (nonimmigrant and immigrant), family immigration, investor visas, consular practice, global migration, employer sanctions,
waivers and inadmissibility issues, and citizenship and naturalization (including eligibility based on military service). Ms. Kasham's readiness and ability to successfully handle complex cases within each of these areas has enabled her to develop her expertise and establish herself as an experienced attorney in the field of Immigration Law.

Ms. Kasham is admitted to the State Bar of Michigan. She is also a member of the American Bar Association (ABA), American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), and AILA Michigan Chapter.
