Cathy J. Clark, CPA


Cathy is an audit and assurance principal at CliftonLarsonAllen in their National Assurance Technical Group with over 20 years of experience. Her primary responsibilities include being a technical resource for the audit and assurance practice and quality review of assurance and accounting engagements. She has experience in conducting training sessions for audit and accounting staff within CliftonLarsonAllen, the American Institute of CPAs, and the Minnesota Society of CPAs.


Experience in Serving Clients
Throughout her career, Cathy has served a variety of clients in numerous industries,including an emphasis in not for profit organizations and health care entities. Sheassists engagement teams with technical audit and accounting issues, and works with
the Public Service and Health Care Groups to formulate audit and financial statementreport planning.


Education/Professional Involvement
Cathy is a graduate of the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management and holds a Bachelor of Science Business degree in Accounting. She is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Minnesota. Cathy is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and of the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants. She is the current chair of the AICPA’s Not-For-Profit Organization Expert Panel and co-chair of the AICPA’s Not-For-Profit Organizations Audit & Accounting Guide Task Force. She is active in the community and currently serves on the board of Edina Athletic Booster Association. She was a troop leader for over ten years for the Girl Scouts of Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin River Valleys. She has also been a mentor with the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management’s mentorship program for the past five years. Prior to joining LarsonAllen in 2002, Cathy spent five years with Deloitte & Touche LLP. She also spent five years working for Minneapolis based public companies providing guidance on SEC and GAAP reporting and implementation of the accounting standards.
