Morden S. Shapiro, FCA, FCPA, CMC


Morden has consulted to professional firms and small businesses throughout Canada for over 40 years. He deals with all matters of Practice Management including Partnership Arrangements, Profit Sharing, Succession, Strategic Planning and Billing issues. He is a well-known teacher, author and public presenter. He is the author of Professional Practice Mergers: a Handbook, published by the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants. His regular Practice Management column “The Mort Exchange” is now in its 35th year.

Morden is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario and a Certified Management Consultant. He is a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Business and Information Technology at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT). He teaches a variety of Business Management, Entrepreneurship and Managerial Accounting courses. He heads up the Entrepreneurship Incubator for the Faculty of Business, UOIT.

Morden has developed and sold a public accounting practice and for many years managed his own business as a Management Consultant across Canada. Morden has served as an Expert Witness in matters involving Fraud, Professional Negligence and Professional Firm Partnership disputes. He is a Mediator / Arbitrator in matters involving partnership disputes in professional firms. Morden facilitates Partner Planning Retreats and Partner meetings.

Morden lives in Toronto, Canada and occasionally in Fort Myers Beach, Florida.
